Can I pay cash for the hiring of equipment?
We do not accept cash. Payment must be made up front with a debit/credit card (not American express)
Opening Times?
Our branches are open:
Monday – Friday: 7.30am – 5pm
Saturday: closed
Sunday: closed
What I.D. do I need to provide when hiring equipment?
2 forms of ID are required: UK driving licence that states your name and current address and a utility bill dated within the last 3 Months.
Do I need to have a licence/certificate to use the equipment?
If you are a private hirer and are using the equipment on private property, no license/certificate is required. Trade users might need a licence/certificate for some equipment if working on site.
What are your hire time periods?
One Day: This is the rate for the First Day of hire 24 hours from the start of hire (rate = 60% of weekly rate)
Two Day: This is the rate for the First two days of hire, 48hours from the start of hire (rate = 80% of weekly rate)
Weekly: This is the for the full week. We charge a 5 day week and do not charge for weekends
How soon can you supply?
We stock a comprehensive range with most items in stock. Next day is usually no problem but please contact us to confirm on 0845 6017738

Do I need an account to hire a piece of equipment from JPS Platforms?
Yes, a credit account is required to hire anything from JPS Platforms, you can apply directly from our website!
Can I pay on a credit card?
Yes but you will still need to apply for a credit account
What do I do when I am finished with the machine?
It is critical that you obtain an off hire reference from the hire desk staff, this will be a unique number, please retain this number for your records. UNTIL YOU HAVE THIS NUMBER THE MACHINE WILL REMAIN ON HIRE. Please call the office on 01279 357400 to terminate your hire
Are there any terms and conditions that we need to be aware of?
Yes we operate under the CPA model terms and conditions (if we could have a click to link to the CPA Terms that would be great

Can I have my Training on site?
Yes, provided your site/equipment on site meets the requirements specified by IPAF and PASMA (please provide link to the On Site Training Check Lists attached to this e-mail). Please call Adam Smith on 01279 357 400 to discuss this. Please note that a minimum of four operatives will be required for on site training. If your equipment does not meet the requirements then we can hire you the equipment but if the site itself is unsuitable we would ask that your operative(s) come to our Harlow depot for training.
How long do courses last?
All courses start at 8:15am and generally finish around 3:30pm to 4:30pm depending on the number of operatives attending and also their experience level. Please expect to be with us for the whole working day.
Can I start operating the equipment the next day or do I have to wait for my licence?
For operatives who need to be working the next day, we can provide letters as evidence that you have attended and passed the relevant course. On that letter will be our phone number so if any site manager/health & safety operative requires more evidence, they can call us and we will provide anything they need.
